Barbara Bowman, as we called her in Quaker circles, was a friend to my parents as they were age mates but I was closer to her and Clarice than the rest of my siblings - even those that went to Wesley Girls. I am an old girl of Mfantsiman and since they left Ghana, I made it a point to visit them each time I went to UK or on my way to Canada or the US. On such days, I had to sleep in both homes . It was easy if I was staying for a number of days that was an even number. If it was an odd one there was always the issue of who gets the extra day. They in turn would always visit me in Tema anytime they came back into the country. In her latter years, Barbara and Jeanne Harrison who taught in Mfantsiman were always together and visited Ghana a couple of year ago. They both visited the two schools to see all the changes that had occurred. Jeanne died about a month before Barbara. May their souls rest in perfect peace. Edwina Assan (Moga 77)
