Thank you for your phone call. I cannot find the letter you referred to but I understand that you were asking for a message of greeting of the WGHS brochure. I hope that the following will be acceptable.

Whenever Ghana is mentioned on the news I feel proud and privileged proud to have had a small share in the education of such a distinguished nation and privilege to have worked with dedicated teachers and taught clever, eager, caring students. The sixteen years I spent at Wesley Girls High School were among the happiest and most fulfilling of my life. some of the girls I taught have grown to high positions nationally and internationally and/or to raise families who are carrying on the
WGHS traditions of loyalty, integrity and service.

I have many happy memories of classrooms discussions, of learning together (yes, I learned much from my pupils), of interschool competitions, of village work, of trips to the beach and the castles at Cape Coast and Elmina, of forest walks and of fun and laughter on the school compound. I also recall with joy my visits to Ghana in the 1980s and 1990s especially the weeks I spent restoring the library after rains through roof had ruined many of the books. The girls who volunteered to help me
worked hard and efficiently. Thank you.

I am glad that so many of you remember me. I like receiving your letters and
appreciate the visits that some of you make to Settle.
